Mother of all First Three Chapters Test!
Fourth period begins on Tuesday, 4 October, and fifth and seventh on Wednesday , 5 October. Fourth period will do the essays on Thursday, and fifth and seventh when we come back from Columbus Day break.

"Mother Tests" are the 800 lb. gorillas of tests. Put a lot of extra time into preparing for them.

There are three parts to these tests. Part I has about 150 objective questions, some of them four minute AP slide questions from previous AP Art History tests.

Part II, five and ten minute essay questions, about eight or nine--and

Part III open note, about 70 items.

There will a PowerPoint Presentation and a CueCard set for each chapter. Check them out to the left. They are useful study tools.

The Egypt and Aegean CueCard  files have been posted!

Up next, Chapter 4, Aegean Art, Quiz on whole chapter, just as soon as we finish Chapters 1-3 tests..

More Egyptian handouts to be downloaded and printed out. See below.

Just posted, a new link. I discovered a great site for art history students. It's called ArtLex, and it's an illustrated  dictionary of art terms. Try it as a study aid. You'll like it. Click on Links to the left.

Also some good Egyptian sites, especially one called Eternal Egypt. Lots of good stuff here, lots of whiz bang multimedia presentations courtesy of IBM. Go to Egypt on the Links page Click on the logo or the url.

Click here for list of Egypt terms. These are terms, names, places, etc. that I will mention in our study of Egypt. They are good to look up for study, and I won't have to spell them for you when we use them in class. Print out, punch, and keep in your notebook.

For those who wish to purchase the text, Art History Second Edition by Marilyn Stokstad, there are several ways to purchase.

Amazon.com is a good source of new and used copies. Also some folks have found excellent prices on eBay.

You want to be sure that you purchase the Second Edition or Second Edition revised, copyright 2002 or later. Don't get the first edition!

The two volume boxed set with a Van Gogh slipcover is no longer in print but is available used. It's very nice.

I highly recommend having a copy of a book called  The Annotated Mona Lisa. Students say this is the most useful review tool available for the AP Art History test.. She also has a book entitled The Annotated Arch about architecture. I think it's good, but I haven't really used it that much.

Here is a link to the title at Amazon.com. You can choose either new or used, all at a good price..
Annotated Mona Lisa

Remember, there is no requirement to purchase either text. I issue both of these books to every student.
