Welcome to the Heidelberg High School Arab-Israeli Conflict Class!

Middle Eastern Flags

The Arab-Israeli Conflict class is a computer simulation, run through the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, in which high school teams from all over the world take on roles of Middle Eastern countries and interact with other teams via computers. This is a course designed to immerse students in the complex and dynamic world of the Middle East.

Acting as presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings, and Foreign Ministers, students interact face-to-face with members of their own team and by means of computer communication with students from other schools in the United States, Canada, and other countries to advance the goals of the nation they represent. The purpose of this game is not to try to achieve peace, but to make the goal closer. Through this class, students become more sophisticated citizens with a greater appreciation of the complexity of domestic and international politics.
